Where the HeArt is Challenge #3 – ‘Anything Goes/Winter Blue's

 

Hi Everyone

Well it’s getting colder by the day now so this month’s challenge theme seems really on target..lol  So today I am sharing with you my DT piece which is a small 5” x 7” canvas with lots of blues on it.  I’m sure it’s Christmas in the sea too!

 

To create the texture I have used Cambric and glued it to form loops for the sea.  I’ve used Oak House Studio spray Colour Chemistry Inks.  The digi image I used is called Beauregard SeaHorsy's Christmas coloured with Spectrum Noir Pens.  To add more texture I used a mix of micro beads and crushed glass glitter together with some shell embellishments found in my crafting hovel which were painted with Silks Acrylic Glazes.

My Old Diary Altered Slightly! with Visible Image Stamps

 

Hi Everyone

Digging through my crafty stash trying to think of a project that I could make quickly (as I always leave things to that Crisis Crafting moment…lol) to put forward to Visible Image’s recent DT Call (sadly I did not make it but boy was the standard high when you see who did get in! – check out their blog for details).

So I did this for a bit of fun.  I used my old 2012 diary rather than bin it together with some gesso etc.  So here is briefly how I did it.

I stared with my diary…..

 

 

..and gave it a coat of Heavy Black Gesso to cover the gold writing up as the white gesso wasn’t doing it for me!

 

 

I then gathered up all my bits and pieces, die cuts, stencils etc and added them to the covers.  Next gesso’d it all white ready to add my colours.

 

 

Now I started to build up the colours with paints and sprays.

 

 

I used Stampboard for my main cover feature and punched holes down the side that were tied through with ribbon and knotted. This was glued to the front cover.

 

 

Added a couple of stamped images and Voila!!  Finished.

NEW Flower Power!! – from Tonic Studios

 

Hi Everyone

MJ has been working with the new floral Verso Dies from Tonic Studios launching tonight 9pm over on Ideal World as POD.  She has loved coming up with ideas for them and she can’t wait any longer to share them with you.

Here is MJ’s first project for you to see.  She started with a cheap £1.99 chalk board!

She has used papers from Tonic’s recent Cameo launch to cover the base using the Pure Matte Adhesive.

 

Next she die cut lots of flowers from all the die sets and layered and shaped them adding some Nuvo Glitter on the edge of the petals and Crystal drops for the centres of the flowers.  All the flowers are also made from the papers.

 

 

Before gluing the flowers and die cut bird and cage MJ added a couple of the Parisian Transfers and distressed the edges of the house with Potting Soil Archival Ink.

 

 

The flowers are gorgeous but the panels that are part of the set ……well you’ll have to tune in to see them in action.  The Design Team have made wonderful projects to inspire you.  These are MJ’s favourite ones to date (she’s a sucker for a dimensional flower).
