NEW, NEW, NEW Darice Embossing Folder – Crafters Companion

Hi Everyone

Today Mandy-Jane is showcasing one of the NEW designs in the Darice Embossing Folder range.  She has chosen to use the Honeycomb folder for this card.

20130127_155531

This is such a versatile folder as you can see.  Mandy-Jane has a couple more ideas to share with using the Honeycomb design over the next few days.

For this card she has embossed the back panel from Snowflake Core’dinations and then tinted the top half with Pan Pastel Phthalo Blue Tint and the lower half with Phthalo Green Tint.  Mandy-Jane took an 8” x 8” white scalloped card from Hunkydory and added Buttercup Core card.  Adhered the tinted panel to left-hand side of the card.

The flowers are made from deep yellow Core card using the Honeycomb folder.  Each flower back is made from a six hexagon round.  The trumpets are made from 4 hexagon shapes.  She has used a Memory Box Border Die to embellish the edges of the card.

Please take a look over at Crafters Companion UK to see the full range – it’s a wonderful collection.

NEW, NEW, NEW–Darice Embossing Folders

Hi Everyone

I have some great news for you.  Crafters Companion are launching new Darice Embossing Folders.  There are loads to choose from – about 30 new designs!!!

I have once again been lucky enough to work with them together with the rest of the Design Team.  I have had fantastic fun making projects with them.

I am sure you will love them but you will have a problem choosing which ones you want.  May I make a suggestion?  – Get ALL of them….lol x

20130127_141558

This was made using the NEW ABC’s 4” x 6” folder.  Great for kids cards.  To see more pop over to Crafters Companion UK by following the link below.

 http://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/shop-by-brand-2159/darice-1377/embossing-folders-1665.html

I have used Pan Pastels to colour the embossed panel and then used Versamark Ink and clear embossing powder to add the sheen.  I used Core’dinations card in Scarlet, Pesto and Lime.  For the rosette I used a Memory Box die tinted with the Pan Pastels.  I finished off the centre using the Epiphany Crafts Button Studio Round 20 tool together with the self-adhesive Buttons Round 20.

I’ll pop another card made with the new designs tomorrow.

Enjoy!

Owl on Branch Silhouette Card Tutorial

Hi Everyone

Today Mandy-Jane brings you a card tutorial using the Sheena Highland Silhouette stamps and Pan Pastels.  This would make a great card for the men.

20130127_130442
Start with an A5 white base card.  Cut a black matt.

Stamp the background using Versamark Ink and the twiggy branch from the Sheena stamp set.  Using Pan Pastels in Phthalo Green Tint (620.8) and Permanent Green Tint (640.8) lightly colour over the stamped images.  Dust off excess.

Next take a piece of super smooth 300gsm card stock and tint the background using Pan Pastels in Phthalo Green Tint and Permanent Green Tint as above but blend in some Hansa Yellow Tint (220.8) as well.  Set with a very light spray of cheap hairspray.

Stamp the silhouette images of the branch and owl using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and set aside to dry whilst you cut your matts to sit behind it.

Now adhere your layers to the front of the card base.

Mandy-Jane has added some ferns cut using a Memory Box Die together with some ribbon.

We hope that this has inspired you.

Enjoy

Birch Tree Silhouette Card Tutorial

Hi Everyone

Today we have a wonderful card designed by Debbie G using simple techniques to create a fantastic end result.

Cut a piece of white card cut to 14cm x 15cm and using Distress Inks in Seedless Preserve, Fired Brick and Spiced Marmalade and Duster Brushes sweep the colour across the card until you are happy with the colours.
  1. Next cut black glitter card to 15cm x 15.5cm and mat the inked card on top.
  2. Using the Memory Box Tall Birch die cut 5 trees out of black card.  Also using the Joy Leaf 2 die cut some sprigs in black card.
  3. Cut black card to form the hills and build your scene using foam pads to add dimension.
  4. Take the 8" x 8" scalloped card blank and using Tonic Super Trimmer cut aperture in front of card by coming in from each edge at 1.7cm and removing the central square.
  5. Cut acetate to 18.5cm x 18.5cm and adhere to the inside of the aperture.
  6. To get a finished look inside your card and to cover glue etc cut a second frame.  Use another card blank and cut in half along straight edge.  Then repeat cut for aperture as before and glue inside the aperture.
  7. Lastly, cut a square of card to 15cm x 15.5cm and adhere to rear of scene panel inside of card. Add black self adhesive pearls to front of card to finish.

  • Distress Inks - Seedless Preserve, Dries Marigold and Fired Brick

Stamp-It with Crafters Companion New Launch

Hi Everyone

How exciting is it with the live Create and Craft shows from CHA!

Crafters Companion have worked together with Stamp-It Australia to bring you 4 sets of wonderful stamp sets.  You will love these as they are gorgeous.

I have been extremely lucky to have been able to work with these images for Crafters Companion.

The first two samples are from  the Luscious Landscapes set ( I apologise for the bad photography!).

I have used Spectrum Noir pens to colour all the images with.  These pens are a fantastic alcohol colouring system blending seamlessly together.  They are available in 168 colours, are all refillable and new nibs can be purchased too.  They are easy to store using the Ultimate Pen Storage System.  Each individual tray will hold 12 pens.

I am also loving the Dreamy Daisies set.  I love the texture that the Core'dinations card stock gives to a project too.

We hope you love the new stamps by Stamp-It as much as we do and hope that you have been inspired by these samples.

Please watch out for Sheena's shows on Create and Craft on Monday.
