Autumn Colours - Prepping Early! with Sheena Douglass Stamps

Hi Everyone

Today Mandy-Jane is sharing with you a card she made a little while ago.  We have been thinking about Summertime the last couple of days but this doesn't mean we are not thinking that 3 months ahead for the next season.....lol

Looking through the Core'dindation card stock the oranges, burnt sienna and golden yellows were shouting ....'use me, use me' then it came to Mandy-Jane that she had done a card previuosly using those colours.  She dug and she dug and low and behold she found the photo!

We Used

Core'dinations Card

Darice Embossing Folder - Stripes

Spellbinders Die - Leaves

Sheena Douglass Stamps - Silhouette Country Lane

Versfine Ink - Onyx Black

Only a quickie but effective.  Great for a man's card.

We hope you have been inspired.

New from Crafters Companion - Angel Whispers CD and Stamps – Launching 19th April 2013 at Midday on Create and Craft

Hi Everyone

Today I am posting about the New CDrom and Stamps that Crafters Companion are launching as Pick of the Week at midday on Friday 19th April on Create and Craft which is now available on Virgin…..wooo hoooo!

Once again these beautiful paintings by Christine Haworth have been reproduced to enable us crafters to use them in so many ways.  Whether as backing papers, printed onto transfer paper and put onto fabric or whether you just like to stamp there is an image for all occasions.  The limit is your imagination.

I decided to use an image from the Card Companions section of the CD to make a quick but lovely card.  The colours and the layers have been done for you so if you like to make a lot of quick cards for your charity etc, then this is ideal.  Or if you are a seasoned crafter you can use it as inspiration and add all the detail you like with stamps, lace, ribbon etc.

I have made a white twisted easel square base card - 5 3/4” x 5 3/4” finished size.

I used Purple Ritz Core’dinations Cardstock for my mats and have used Dusty Concord Distress Ink on the flower buttons and bow embellsihments from the CD.  I added some pretty multi-coloured organza striped ribbon to finish.

She is gorgeous (sorry for the poor picture quality – my photography not the image).  So graceful and peaceful.  The embellishments are really lovely.

Sneak Peek–New Crafters Companion Launch– Faerie Poppets

Hi Everyone

Sorry it’s been a while since I posted last but a lot has happened at home with hospitals etc but now I’m back and looking to catch up on missed time…if that’s at all possible?  lol

As a member of the Crafters Companion Design Team UK I have been working with the adorable Faerie Poppets Cd and stamps.

I remember this range from way back and am so glad that Sara and her Team have worked with this licence.

The backing papers on the CD are gorgeous and the stamps are so easy to colour with.  I’m not a professional colourinerer as you know but I love, love to get my Spectrum Noir pen system out and let rip!

I have used the Tiny Toadstool stamped image for this card project….I hope you like her.

I love to work using core’dination cardstock so here I have used it in Buttercup Yellow and Fortune Teller.  I used the individual petals from the Large and Small Rose Die’sire Quilling Dies and using a circle I arranged and stuck the petals on one by one to get this finished effect.  I added a dazzling jewel from the Frou Frou element packs to finish.  The corner die is also from the Die’sire Range.

Inside the project I have created a box base lined with tonal backing papers from the CD.  The border die is from Die’sire too.  I used the verse writer to write my message.

Honestly, there was something inside.  Once I had lined it with tissue paper it was filled with lovely scented soaps.

I coloured her in using my Speccies.

Skin  -  TN1, TN2, FS1, FS8
Hair  -  EB1, EB2, GB4, GB2
Dress - LV1, LV2, PL1, CT1, CT3
Flowers – LV1, LV2, CT1, CT3
Mushroom – TN6, TN4, TN3 (small mushrooms – TN3, TN2)
Grass – DG4, DG2, DG1

Don’t miss the launch it’s on Create and Craft on Friday 19th April 2013.  It’s going to be a fab show.

Hope you have been inspired.

Visible Image Stamps–Painted Wood Set by Elaine Burnett– March 2013 Guest Designer

Hi Everyone

We have a special treat for you today as the lovely Elaine Burnett is this month’s Guest Designer.

"I have been married to Andy for almost 24 years and I am a SAHM with three children, two boys aged 17 and 15 and a little girl who is 6. I have previously designed for Crafters Companion, Spectrum Noir, Nigel May and Teddy Bo. I have been papercrafting for the last 10 years but have always liked all things crafty from being a little girl. I love stamping, colouring and digi work and love to play with all things paper!"

She is a talented lady and makes the most wonderful cards.

She has taken one of the Visible Image stamp sets and made this gorgeous creation for you.  This is a great project for even the beginner stamper and once you start stamping you’ll be hooked.

Painted Wood Set Card

Elaine has stamped the wood plank 4 times using black ink (we would always recommend Versafine Onyx Black for the clarity) she has then mounted onto the card base using 3D foam pads to give depth.  Next Elaine has stamped the individual elements in the set and added them on top.  Dad is simply stamped in the centre.  Stunning in black and white.
