Camden Town CD from Crafters Companion launches today on Create and Craft!!

Hi Everyone

Well the time has almost arrived….today Crafters Companion will be launching the Camden Town CD’s – one for the men and one for the ladies.

Please don’t miss the live shows with Dawn Wheeler where she will be showing you how to get the best from these CD’s and see what a great job the Design Team has done in giving you lots of inspiration.

MJ has used a selection of elements from the Male CD for her little peeks for you.

This card is great for a teenager.  She choose a decoupage image, a border sheet and a background paper taken from the Design Set section.  To finish she added some matching coloured eyelets.

For the next project MJ has taken a coordinating backing paper, sentiment and embellishment sheets and Spray and Shine to glaze the guitars.  A very simple and quick card to do.  She finished it some star brads and an insert created from the Design Set section.

For this Tag card MJ has used the Tag Compnaions section on the CD.  She created a tri-fold card using her Ultimate Pro tool.  She 3D’d the potting shed by printing image out twice and cut out the windows on the top one.  T finish she used sentiments, bottle embellishments and a die cut from her crafting stash.

We hope you have been inspired.

Hi Everyone

Today MJ is sharing with you a couple of Sneak Peeks of the Brand New Camden Town CD’s being launched by Crafters Companion on Create and Craft on Thursday 17th April.

There are 2 CD’s Male and Female jam packed full of gorgeous printables!  And not forgetting that there are Camden Town stamps available to go with the CD’s on www.crafterscompanion.co.uk too.

There will also be a papercraft kit available exclusively to Create and Craft.  So many wonderful products in this range.

MJ has been working with the Camden Town Male CD for her collection of projects which she has loved because you know how difficult it is to make cards for men!  But with this CD you will have loads to choose from.

Here is an easy double twisted easel card using a Topper Companion sheet together with a sentiment taken from CD and one of the gorgeous coordinating backing papers.  The colours in the design are easy on the eye and tone so well with the soft antique brown colours of the background paper.

Lavinia Zen Butterfly, Gesso, Modelling Paste, Dutch Doobadoo Stencil and ~Twinkling H2O Paints

Hi Everyone

Today MJ has been playing with a couple of her Lavinia stamps from Tracey Dutton’s Zen designs.  They are gorgeous.  MJ likes a butterfly or two…you know what she always says ‘it’s not a mistake it’s a place for the butterfly…lol’!

She decided she wanted to get inky messy tonight whilst OH was again watching footy on the telly.  She loves it when footy is on as it is a legitimate time to craft.

MJ was thinking about the colours of the Dragonflies wings that fly about her pond so it had to be a mix of blues and greens.  To get the shimmer she got out her Twinkling H20 paints.  It’s not very clear from the photos but the sheen is amazing with these paints.

The Zen Butterfly is a gorgeous stamp to play with and when you put it together with Tracey’s other designs there are endless possibilities for your projects.

What MJ Used

Maimeri Gesso

Maimeri Light Modelling Paste

Dutch Doobadoo Stencil – Fabric

LuminarteTwinkling H20 Paints – Pear Blossom and Sapphire on Ice

Lavinia Stamps – Zen Butterfly and Zen Leaf 2

Black Archival Ink

What MJ Did

  1. Cut a piece of white cardstock to fit your card and give it a very thin coat of gesso.  Dry with heat gun.
  2. Take the stencil and secure it where wanted.  Using a palette knife, or something similar, spread light modelling paste thinly through the stencil.  Be careful when lifting it off that you don’t smear it (pop stencil and tool into water to clean straight away).  Dry with heat gun.
  3. Now take paints and paint over background until you are happy with the colour blend.  Dry with heat gun.
  4. Stamp the Zen Leaf design onto bottom edge of panel using the archival ink.  Dry.  Then colour this with the paints.  Set aside to dry.
  5. Stamp the butterfly onto a piece of white card stock using archival ink.  Take paints and colour the image.  Once dry cut the image out.
  6. Matt and layer the panel onto a card blank.  Add butterfly to finish.

A nice easy card project for you to have a bash at.  MJ just loves her H20’s again!

We hope you have been inspired.
