Finnabair October Workshops - Journal – At Last!

Hi Everyone

At last MJ  has managed to get on here and show one of her projects from an absolutely fantastic weekend of workshops with Finnabair.  The workshops were run by the fabulous Sue Tucker of Art Workshops.  Gorgeous projects and stuff to use on them and more biscuits than you could shake your tail feather at!…lol

The workshops were so well organised that Churchill would have been envious!

Anyhoo, here is a left-handed (it may catch on yet!) journal that MJ did back to front (ooops!) and is still working on (when she gets the time).  The piccie is rubbish and we think that is once again MJ’s terrible photo skills.  Not even pic monkey could help her out on this..ho hum.. but we are sure you will get the idea - we hope!

Sorry it’s a short one again but onwards my friends.

The Snowman and Snow Dog Christmas Book

Hi Everyone

MJ thought she would quickly share a project she made recently for Crafters Companion as a step-by-step tutorial.

She chose a lovely pale blue paper from the Snowman CD together with some decoupage elements she created from the CD too.  A great project to do as a keepsake for the children – something that can be brought out year after year as part of the Christmas decorations.

This is the front of the book……

Die’sire Christmas Village Scene Card

Hi Everyone

Here’s another card from MJ using one of the latest Christmas die releases from Crafters Companion in their Die’sire range.

She has cut out the Christmas Village scene x 3 in Kraft card and cut away portions to give 3D effect.  MJ then mounted Snowfall Acetate to the rear of each layer.

On a 7” x 7” white card blank she matted some red spotty paper.  Next she cut a frame to fit the front of the snowy pieces.  Glue to the top layer.  With 3D foams pads MJ built up the layers and then mounted the completed scene to the front of the card adding a bow to finish.

What MJ Used

Once again this card is a quick easy project with simple layers.

Today MJ is sharing a fab little project she made using the new Die'sire Christmas Wreath Create-a-Card die from Crafters Companion.

MJ has cut the Wreath out on green Adorable Scorable card leaving 1" either side to fold back to form a dome front card.  She has used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink through the die before taking out of the die.  The matts and layers are cut from Anna Marie Designs Spotty Papers onto a white 7" x 7" card blank.  To finish she added some small red pearls from Hobbyhouse and ribbons.

Tonic Cards by Alison Whelan

Hi Everyone

We recently had a wonderful demonstration day with the equally fabulous Alison Whelan from Tonic Studios.  What a great day it was with Alison showing all the ladies and gents how to make some beautiful cards as well as lots of hints and tips to get the most out of Tonic dies.

We are very lucky to have some of Alison’s creations from her day with us so we thought we would share them with you for inspiration.

This card is so pretty when seen in the flesh as the colours are lovely soft pearlescent shades matching the vintage look of the picture.  In this card Alison has used the Twined Lily and a floral header die.

In this sample she has used the Dragonfly Delight die set.  How gorgeous is this set.  We love it.  The colours are a lovely mix of cream and gold.

Monochromatic is still so very popular in card making and scrapbooking and Alison has got lots of texture and layering in in this project. So pretty!  She has used the Envelope Set 2 together flower head and Mini daisy punches.

Sunny Yellow and Black have made this card a stand out project because of the contrasts used.  Once again Alison has the Envelope Set 2 and also Happy Birthday and Frond Finesse sets and  Daisy punch to finish.

The last card is so fresh looking - clean and simple look.  Alison has used the Daisy Square set and You Make Everything Perfect die set.
