Hi Everyone
Sorry it’s been a 3 week gap since I last post but
pre-Christmas illness and Christmas celebrations meant that I was banned from
my Craft Hovel for the duration. Thankfully OH has released me from the holiday
shackles and well…. here I am ready or not!!
I have been having a quick relaxing play with my crafty stash
and decided that it was time to do another page of my journal. So I went to my
‘go-to-stuff’ and pulled out some favourites. Tonight they are my Oak House
Studio Sunflower Stamp, Acrylic Inks, Pure Colour Chemistry Inks for spraying
and paste.
So here it is……
What I Did
-
Firstly I coated the pages with white gesso then using a circle stencil from Finnabair I added some pasted areas. Dried with a heat tool.
-
Then using a pencil I lightly sketched the face area on the far RH side of pages. Using some Buff Titanium and Burnet Sienna acrylic paints I made the skin tone colour for the face. I used Quinacridone Scarlet mixed with Buff Titanium for the lips.
-
Using some kitchen paper to block the face off I used some Citrus Lime Ink diluted with water in a spray bottle, and spritzed the background. Then I used an orange and a yellow Acrylic Ink to create the splashed and runs of colours on the pages. Dried with a heat tool. I then used a script stamp to add detail together with some wording stamps.
-
Next I stamped the Sunflower stamp 5 times direct onto the page flowing across both diagonally. I also stamped 3 more flowers onto plain card. Each flower was painted with gesso that has been coloured using a tiny spot of Bottled Sunshine Pure Colour Chemistry. Cut out the flowers on the card.
-
For the centre of the flowers I used stamps from Finnabair stamped onto card/patterned paper and cut out. I also stamped the butterfly onto card, coloured it and cut it out.
-
I glued the circle stamped pieces onto the flowers on the pages and then added the 3 remaining flowers and the butterfly. The last thing I did was to go around all the outside edges with some Brazil Nut ink.
