NEW Halcyon Days – Sneak Peek - 2

Hi Everyone

Well here we are with MJ’s second Sneak Peek ahead of the Halcyon Days CD launch this Saturday 24th May with the lovely Sara Davies.  This wonderfully pretty CD is a Weekender on Create and Craft.  Be sure not to miss the shows.

So MJ has another cute little project to show you this time from the Halcyon Days Papercraft kit.  As usual Hunkydory have done a fabulous job in producing these for Crafters Companion.  The images are gorgeous and together with the foiling and the lovely paper pads too you will be wanting to craft all day, every day!  There is so much choice.

She has used 2 of the frames together with a matching background card from the collection. The huts have been 3D’d and a greeting added.

Inside you can see how she has used the frames to create a lovely little gift for family or friends.

Just look at the pictures inside the frames and how fabulous the layers look.  A very pretty kit indeed.

New Sneak Peek– 2nd Part of POW - Snowman and Snowdog Papercrating Kit from Crafters Companion.

Today I have a Sneak Peak from the new upcoming  POW on Create and Craft this Friday, August 23rd.  It is in two parts; the 1st part of the POW is  ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’ CD ROM and Stamps, a bonus ‘Father Christmas’ CD ROM.  The Second part is  ‘The Snowman and The Snowdog’ papercrafting kit from Hunkydory which includes a free Father Christmas papercrafting kit, Acetate and 6x6 papers.  The kit is awesome!

I have made a card using one of the A4 backing cards and a topper sheet from the kit.

What I used: -

White Card Blank – 15cm x 15cm square
A4 Backing Card from Kit
Topper Sheet from Kit
Navy Core’dinations Card
Collall Tacky Glue/All Purpose Glue/3D Glue Gel
Ribbon – Snowman Ribbon Pack

What I did: -
  • Fold a piece of white card measuring 15cm x 30cm in half to make a 15cm x 15cm card blank.

  • Cut a piece from the A4 backing card to fit the front at 14.5cm x 14.5cm.  Wrap ribbon around this and then glue panel to the front of your card blank.

  • Cut another piece from the backing card to fit inside. Adhere this to right-hand side of inside of card.

  • With a piece of the remaining backing card make a pocket for the inside left-hand side of card and glue around 3 edges only leaving the top open.

  • Cut 2 pieces of card to make tags for pocket.  Stick these to navy card, punch a hole in top and thread ribbon through.

  • Take topper and using 3D Glue gel or foam pads layer the stacker topper together.  Stick to centre front of card.  Add ribbon, bow and greeting to finish.

A really easy card to make thanks to the elements and gorgeous designs found in this papercrafting kit.

We hope you have been inspired.

Hunkydory - Mr Robin Redbreast Collection 4 ways

Hi Everyone

We expect every crafter is either thinking about their Christmas cards or are already half-way through making them so today Debbie has taken a Hunkydory Christmas Topper pack and used it in 4 ways showing how versatile just one pack can be.  And as you can get so many cards made using all your bits and bobs in your crafting stash, what brilliant value they are too.

Mistletoe Card

  1. Score a piece of A4 card in half or use an A5 pre-scored card blank.
  2. Stick red gingham paper to card front and trim to fit.
  3. Cut a rectangle of ruby vintage card and a larger mat from plain white card.
  4. Before you adhere the ruby card to the larger mat - colour the edges by inking with Bundled Sage Distress Ink.
  5. Trim out the toppers from the Mr Robin Redbreast sheet.  Arrange all your elements before sticking anything down to make sure you are happy with the layout.
  6. Stick down the rectangular mat first and then stick the red ribbon half-way between the bottom of mat and bottom of card.
  7. Arrange the 2 circular toppers as shown.
  8. Using Bundled Sage Distress Ink - colour the die-cut mistletoe and adhere to card.
  9. Finish with self adhesive pearls as berries on mistletoe.

Baubles Card

  1. Fold gingham card from pack in half.
  2. Trim out toppers from sheet and decide where you want them but do not stick down yet.
  3. Using peel-off chain borde,r centre and stick down above bauble topper making sure the lower end of the chain finishes behind baubles.
  4. Now stick the baubles onto the card using foam pads/glue gel to create depth.
Red Glitter Corner Card

  1. Fold red bordered cream backing card from pack in half.
  2. Stick Mr Robin Redbreast topper in the centre of the card - used as a landscape card.
  3. Die cut corner and greeting from red glitter card and stick to card.
Square Twiggy Card

  1. Starting with square card blank (approx 6" x 6") using a corner rounder - round off upper right and lower left corners.
  2. Ink card base with Bundled Sage Distress Ink using either Cut 'n' Dry Foam or Ink Duster brushes.
  3. Immediately dust the inked card with green mica powder from Imagination Crafts Nature Set.
  4. Die-cut the twig wreath (Memory Box) from white card and colour with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink.
  5. Trim out toppers from sheet.  To make the most from your twiggy wreath die-cut trim out a section and set aside to use later as corner embellishments.
  6. Place Mr Robin Redbreast topper in centre of card and place large twiggy wreath section to top left making sure the cut away section is hidden under the centre topper.  Stick down when happy with position.  Stick the circular greeting to the bottom right of the centre topper and raise on foam pads for depth.
  7. Cut a small corner from red gingham paper and stick to the bottom right-hand and cut the remaining section of twiggy wreath into 2 and adhere to top right and bottom left corners as shown.
  8. Finally, using red stickles glitter glue decorate the large twiggy wreath with berries.

We hope you enjoy these projects.
