Autumn Colours - Prepping Early! with Sheena Douglass Stamps

Hi Everyone

Today Mandy-Jane is sharing with you a card she made a little while ago.  We have been thinking about Summertime the last couple of days but this doesn't mean we are not thinking that 3 months ahead for the next season.....lol

Looking through the Core'dindation card stock the oranges, burnt sienna and golden yellows were shouting ....'use me, use me' then it came to Mandy-Jane that she had done a card previuosly using those colours.  She dug and she dug and low and behold she found the photo!

We Used

Core'dinations Card

Darice Embossing Folder - Stripes

Spellbinders Die - Leaves

Sheena Douglass Stamps - Silhouette Country Lane

Versfine Ink - Onyx Black

Only a quickie but effective.  Great for a man's card.

We hope you have been inspired.

Owl on Branch Silhouette Card Tutorial

Hi Everyone

Today Mandy-Jane brings you a card tutorial using the Sheena Highland Silhouette stamps and Pan Pastels.  This would make a great card for the men.

20130127_130442
Start with an A5 white base card.  Cut a black matt.

Stamp the background using Versamark Ink and the twiggy branch from the Sheena stamp set.  Using Pan Pastels in Phthalo Green Tint (620.8) and Permanent Green Tint (640.8) lightly colour over the stamped images.  Dust off excess.

Next take a piece of super smooth 300gsm card stock and tint the background using Pan Pastels in Phthalo Green Tint and Permanent Green Tint as above but blend in some Hansa Yellow Tint (220.8) as well.  Set with a very light spray of cheap hairspray.

Stamp the silhouette images of the branch and owl using Versafine Onyx Black Ink and set aside to dry whilst you cut your matts to sit behind it.

Now adhere your layers to the front of the card base.

Mandy-Jane has added some ferns cut using a Memory Box Die together with some ribbon.

We hope that this has inspired you.

Enjoy

Large Flutterby Card - Easy

Hi Everyone

Today we have a simple stamped card using the Dimension Stamp 'Vintage Fluttering Flourishes' stamp plate.

You get an amazng 14 elements to this set and it is so elegant.  The butterfly is a large size but you can do so many effects with it.  The flourishes and swirls are very useful and create wonderful backgrounds especially when used with WOW embossing powders.  Doing this you not only get a luxurious finish but you also get texture.

We have chosen to use cream and black card together with black ink.  We have also used the Sheena Silouhette Garden stamp plate.

Ingredients Used: -

Cream Card
Black Card
Dimension Stamp - Vintage Fluttering Flourishes stamp
Sheena - Silouhette Garden stamp plate
Versafine Ink Pad - Onyx Black
Tonic Studio Border Punch - Doily Edge
Card Candy
Pink Saddle Stitch Gross Grain Ribbon
Collall 3D Glue Gel

What We Did

  • Fold cream card stock in half to form A5 card base.  Using a flourish stamp and the Versafine ink stamp the image on to front of card to create the background.
  • Next, cut a piece of cream card to 13cm x 16cm.  Stamp the butterfly image in the centre of this.
  •  Then using a Sheena leafy branch stamp - stamp around the outside edges.
  • Take a craft knife and cut around the outside edge of the wings only so that they can be bent upwards.
  • Cut a piece of black card to 13.5cm x 16.5cm and matt your butterfly panel onto this.
  • Take a strip of black card and punch along the length of it.  Adhere to front of card.
  • Cut a strip of ribbon and adhere on top of punched border.
  • Mount butterfly panel onto left hand side of front of card using 3D foam or Collall 3D glue gel.
  • Finally embellish with the card candy and add a bow to finish.
We hope you like ths project.
